Last night, President Trump finally made the decision that we've all been waiting for and he fired FBI Director James Comey. Director Comey has been a thorn in the administration's side since before the election and has consistently shown how ineffective he is as the head of the Bureau.
The reasons for Comey's termination are obvious. Not only did he make the decision to release incomplete information before the election that may have swayed votes, a clear impropriety, but he has since denied any wrong-doing in this. While we agree that the information about Crooked Hillary's emails are important and needed to be known, his decision to release that information at the time he did shows a lack of political acumen that is unjustifiable.
Additionally, Comey has continued to deny any wrong-doing in recent discussions with Congress, instead stating that his actions were appropriate, despite both governmental and public opinion.
When it comes down to it, Comey has degraded the confidence the American people have in the FBI, its Director, and its mission. President Trump could not continue to support Comey's keeping his post, and made the bold and right move to oust him.
